About the Inland Empire

The Inland Empire (IE) is a metropolitan area comprising California’s Riverside and San Bernardino counties that more than 4 million people call home.

It is a socially and ethnically diverse area known for affordable living, bad traffic, and smog. San Bernardino, home to CSU San Bernardino and San Bernardino Valley College, is also known for having a crime rate consistently around twice the national average. A recent LA Times article called San Bernardino a “broken city” and the “poorest city of its size” in California.

US News and Review ranks one of the campuses, UC Riverside, as the fifth most ethnically diverse campus in the United States. Because these college campuses are so diverse, we have an opportunity to see the Gospel transform many different communities as lost students become Christ-centered laborers.

By reaching the college students of the Inland Empire today, we have an unprecedented opportunity to change the world of tomorrow. The 125,000+ college students of IE are positioned to become influential leaders in their families, communities, and abroad.

We are trusting God to give every student on every campus in the Inland Empire a chance to know and follow Jesus.

  • Before our calling to IE, we served with Cru at UC Davis and on a year-long mission to Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa. Visit our Changed Lives page to get a glimpse of how God has moved in the past.
  • We can’t reach the Inland Empire alone. Consider how you could partner with us to reach this generation for Christ.
